There was a nice result today in the 2nd at Belmont for the Handicap Wizard, a $25K claiming race for fillies and mares at 6f on the dirt. #1 Walin Jose was the long-shot in the field at 30-1, yet had relatively strong E1, E2 and composite figures of 32.1%, 44.7% and a COMP of 28.1% according to the program, indicating strong value for that distance. In the race, #10 Wisconsin Night at 2-1 led until the quarter pole, before Walin Jose made a 5 wide bid in the center of the track to run down the field. Walin Jose paid $62 to win and the place paid $21.40. Trusting in the mathematics of the composite figure—the summation of E1, E2 and LP simulated—paid off well for Walie Jose.
