Track-IQ Top Selection Napoleon Solo Narrowly Denied in Travers
Track-IQ’s top Travers selection, #3 Napoleon Solo, nearly delivered a major victory Saturday at Saratoga. Sent off at 7-1, the Preakness winner used his tactical speed to secure an excellent position before taking command and carrying the lead deep into the stretch.
Napoleon Solo continued to battle determinedly through the final furlong and appeared headed for victory, but #2 Leading Change produced a late surge and caught him at the wire.
The performance validated Track-IQ’s strong assessment of Napoleon Solo. His field-leading early-pace figures, powerful E2 rating and 45.3% COMP probability accurately identified him as a serious win contender. His previous game effort in the Haskell also supplied important evidence that he could sustain his speed against Grade 1 competition.
Although Napoleon Solo was narrowly denied the victory, he rewarded his place backers with an $8 payoff and once again demonstrated that he belongs among the leading three-year-olds in the country.
